How it works

Why PrepWizard Works

PrepWizard is built to help you learn efficiently — not just memorize answers.

01

Built from official manuals

Practice questions are aligned with your state's driver handbook, so you study the right topics in the right way.

02

Clear explanations that teach

Every question includes an explanation. If you miss something, PrepWizard explains why, helping you avoid the same mistake again.

03

Practice that adapts to you

Each question is tagged by topic and concept. When you answer incorrectly, PrepWizard tracks that area and adjusts future practice to reinforce it.

04

Practice modes that fit how you learn

  • Topic-focused practice
  • Progressive difficulty from review to challenge
  • Exam-style sessions to prepare under realistic conditions

As you improve, PrepWizard continues adapting to help you build balanced knowledge across all test topics.

Question 1 of 4

You reach an intersection with no signs or signals at the same time as another vehicle. Who goes first?

Answer. At an uncontrolled intersection, yield to the vehicle on your right. Size and speed never decide right of way. Topic: Right of way

Pick an answer. The explanation appears right away.

Questions

Before you start.

Is PrepWizard the same as driver education?
No. Driver education is the state approved course that gets you a certificate of completion. PrepWizard prepares you for the written knowledge exam you take afterward. If your state requires the course, take it first at www.DriverEdToGo.com.
Are the questions the same ones on the real test?
The questions are drawn from your state's official driver handbook, the same source the DMV writes its exam from. Wording will not match word for word, and no legitimate provider can promise that, but the rules tested are the same rules.
Do you cover motorcycle and CDL tests too?
Yes. Car, motorcycle, and CDL are separate practice paths, each built from the matching section of your state's handbook. Pick your path when you choose your state.
Which states are covered?
All fifty U.S. states. Pick your state before you begin, and switch it later if you move.
How long should I study before my test?
Start with a practice session, since it tells you how far you have to go. Students who score above 70 percent on the first attempt usually need a few days. Below 60 percent, plan on a week or two of topic practice before moving to exam-style sessions.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. PrepWizard runs in any browser and as an app on iPhone and Android. Progress syncs, so you can start a session on your phone and finish it on a computer.
What happens if I fail the real test?
Most states make you wait a set number of days before retaking it, and the wait is often longer for applicants under eighteen. Your PrepWizard access continues, and every question you missed is still tracked.
Do I need to create an account to try it?
No. You can answer sample questions and see explanations without signing up. An account is only needed to save your progress across devices.
